SPIRITUAL HEALING REQUIRES NO FAITH
By James McQuitty 2009

Introduction
The average person, including most doctors and scientists, if they have never investigated the spiritual nature of life, will have little chance of understanding how the therapy called “Spiritual healing” can work.
First they must understand that all material life is an aspect of spirit, and that nobody truly dies. They also need to realise that behind and within all life exists The Power of creation (God or The Great Spirit or whatever name one wants to call it), and that the life-force energy can be set in motion and directed by thought. Then they may have some chance of understanding how Spiritual healing can work.
It may also be useful if they can accept that communication between different realms of being is possible.

Spiritual Healing Is Not Faith Healing
Many people confuse Spiritual healing with Faith healing; yet they are very different. When a patient has confidence in the person channelling the healing energies, or in the therapy itself, this can be helpful, because this encourages a positive frame of mind (and this itself is a useful outlook in fighting off or shielding oneself from disease); but it is not essential to Spiritual healing.
On the other hand, traditional Faith healing (predominantly Christian in the UK and USA), requires the blind faith of the seeker. The would-be beneficiary must wholeheartedly believe in the power of God (often referred to as Jesus) to deliver them from their sickness or ailment. Although failure to recover may well result in the person being told that it is their own fault - because they lack sufficient faith.
Spiritual healing, as recognised and practiced in the UK by qualified members of “The Spiritualists’ National Union” and “The National Federation of Spiritual Healers,” to name just two of many organisations, do not ask their patients to adhere to any religion. No faith is necessary to receive the possible benefits from Spiritual healing, otherwise babies and absent (also known as distant) patients, and animals too, who were unaware of being helped, would not respond in the positive way that has been reported in countless numbers of cases.

What Are and Where Do Spiritual Healing Energies Come From?
Spiritual healing energies are the power of life itself at appropriate rates of vibration to fit the circumstances or needs. Individuals refer to these energies under many different names, such as: universal, cosmic, natural, life-force, divine or spiritual energies.
The power exists everywhere within the universe, it is omnipresent, responding to thought (or prayer) or magnetic attraction that might be described as subconscious or unconscious thought.

How Does Spiritual Healing Work?
The physical body is only the visible aspect of the composite whole being. What is often called the “Aura” is a series of finer energy bodies that interpenetrate with each other and link with the physical aspect of being. It could even be said that the physical form is the aura at its densest centre of being.
Under the right conditions Spiritual healing energies pass through the aura of the healer from where it flows into the aura of the patient. There, it can help to restore balance and release less desirable energies and can also reconstruct and revitalise particles in the physical form.
It has nothing to do with faith; it has no miracle effect, so a number of Spiritual healing sessions may be necessary, dependant upon the severity of the original condition, and just like orthodox medicines will not always bring about a desired outcome; although it will generally help to some degree.
Effectively it is a retuning of energies, firstly in the aura itself, that lead towards a more harmonised balance within the composite being, this in turn can encourage emotional, mental and bodily healing.

The ‘Healer’ – The ‘Channel’
Spiritual healing is not an attempt to perform “miracles;” it is a channelling of energies and, some people are more predisposed to this than others. Most people can channel to degree, whereas there are some who can channel a great deal more powerful concentrations of healing energies, achieving more profound or noticeable improvements within their patients.
Basically, we all possess the necessary apparatus (the aura) and can affect the energy field and thus the physical form of another; so almost anyone can act as a channel for Spiritual healing energies. In the world as it is today it is perhaps better that those with the desire to be of service in this way should seek qualification and be registered as a therapist. Although the energies that flow through the aura of the channel pays no homage to a piece of paper or even whether or not the person realises that they are being utilised in this fashion. It is attracted by care and compassion, empathy, and the desire to help another life form.
Many surgeons, doctors, nurses, care workers and therapists in a number of disciplines act as natural healers. The care and compassion they feel acts as a magnet for healing energies. Many people have a presence about them that makes those in their orbit feel better or happier. This is because the energies they carry within their own aura project outwardly and to some degree touch those with whom they come into contact; and sometimes people absorb some of these energies, or they use them as a retuning fork to better harmonise their own auric energies.
Helpers from the spirit realms may also be attracted, particularly by the request or prayer of a channel, and assist by directing energies. There have been many books written that give testimony to the effectiveness of Spiritual healing. (Books by Harry Edwards are especially recommended).

Science and Spiritual Healing
Scientific proof is not easily obtainable, for in many cases patients who are receiving Spiritual healing, and particularly those with more severe problems, are also receiving help elsewhere, i.e. pills from their doctor or hospital treatment. When the health of someone improves, or a disease is cleared, it becomes impossible to say with absolute certainty whether one form of treatment alone was responsible.
In some cases it is also fair to say that patients simply get better of their own accord; perhaps by reducing the effect or eliminating the original underlying cause of their discord. This can be at a physical level of being, diet or toxic pollution etc., at the emotional or mental level of being, depression, stress, fear etc., or some combination.
The best chance science has of recording healing energies is by devising apparatus to measure the auric field. Such apparatus when applied would then be able to measure changes to the auric fields of patients as they received Spiritual healing.
A simple scientific definition of Spiritual healing was given by the guide Thundercloud (See my book, The Divine Help: Spiritual Healing) he said: “Spiritual healing is the action of a spiritual force brought into the orbit of a material body to replenish the balance of harmonics between the physical and spiritual aspects of an imbalanced body or mind.”
Bearing this in mind, scientists should realise that even when they are able to register energy changes brought about by Spiritual healing, they may still find it difficult to understand, because what they need to comprehend is of a spiritual nature. As I said at the beginning, first they must understand that all material life is an aspect of spirit.
